Understanding Issue Categories
Last updated: November 14, 2025
Overview
Issue categories are a way to organize and assign tickets in NodaFi.
When submitting a ticket, users are prompted to select an Issue. The options available depend on the issue categories admins have created.

To create simple options for submitters, issue categories can be assigned to specific spaces or assets so that only relevant issues appear in ticket options. For example, the issue Out of hand towels could be assigned to all bathroom spaces. This means that Out of hand towels would not show as an option for a ticket related to a meeting room space.
Issue categories can also be used when creating automated workflows. When making user groups, issue categories can be assigned to them. If configured, any ticket with the specified issue will automatically be assigned to a user group. For more information on configuring user groups, see the article Understanding Users and Groups.
Admins can archive issue categories that are no longer needed. Archived issue categories are no longer available in ticket options, but will remain in the system for record-keeping purposes.
