User Permission Levels
Last updated: October 14, 2025
Overview
The permission levels that users have in nodaFi depend on the role they are assigned. There are three main types of roles in NodaFi:
- Organization Roles - These are people within your organization given login credentials to the nodaFi system.
- Outside Roles - These are people who may not be with your organization such as vendors or customers, but who still need limited access to nodaFi.
- Ticket Submitters - These are people who may or may not be associated with your organization and only need the ability to submit a ticket and track its status.
Aside from ticket submitters, admins assign and manage all roles.
In this article, we’ll go over these three types of roles in depth.
Organization Roles
Members of your organization can be given one of three internal roles:
Admin
- Has full system management capabilities
- Can configure locations, add users, and manage organization settings
- Has complete control over all aspects of nodaFi
- Typically assigned to facility managers and system administrators
Staff
- Primary role for day-to-day maintenance and operations
- Can manage tickets, schedule work, and update procedures
- Cannot perform administrative functions like creating locations or managing users
- Ideal for maintenance technicians, custodians, and operational team members
Viewer/Watcher
- Read-focused role with limited update capabilities
- Able toview system information and tickets
- Suitable for stakeholders who need visibility but shouldn’t make changes such as temporary workers.
- Perfect for department heads, executives, or other oversight roles who need to monitor activity
Outside Roles
Outside roles that can be given permission to work on tickets include vendors and customers. These roles will have limited access to tickets specifically assigned to them. You can learn more about them in the following articles:
Ticket Submitters
Ticket submitters do not have credentials to access the organization’s nodaFi account and are called End users. End users are able to submit tickets and view updates and comments on those specific tickets in the system.
For example, customers submitting a ticket with their contact information that a public restroom is out of paper towels would be created in the system as an end user. The customer will not be able to log into the nodaFi dashboard or see any other tickets submitted, they will only be given the option to see the status of the ticket they personally submitted.
