Understanding Inventory and Assets
Last updated: October 14, 2025
Overview
nodaFi allows you to efficiently track your inventory and manage tickets related to important assets at your location. Inventory management is handled in the Parts Inventory section, while asset management is under Assets.

In this article, we’ll go over both features to show how they can be used and relate to each other.
Inventory Items
Inventory consists of items you want to track inventory levels of. When you add an inventory item to a ticket, it automatically updates the inventory level for that item. For instance, if you keep spare Alternators for a building generator, using one on a ticket will decrease the inventory level for Alternators by one. You can also set minimum inventory levels to know when to order more.
To make it easy for users to apply inventory items to tickets, you can limit the locations, spaces, or assets that inventory items can be used on. For example, you do not need a Washer Belt to appear on tickets related to a bathroom. You can even choose specific user groups that are able to use an inventory item. For example, a user who works on electronics will not need to see the inventory items related to plumbing.
Assets
Assets are significant items that require maintenance or repairs. You can create tickets specifically for assets, such as a Generator. Preventative maintenance tasks, like monthly checks on the Generator, and repair tickets can be associated with assets.
NodaFi even allows you to create custom fields for assets to track information unique to your organization.
